Here are answers to some of our frequently asked questions.

When are you open?

All year round. Our availability calendar shows when you can book our cottages.

Do you accept dogs?

We welcome dogs by prior agreement and subject to an additional cleaning fee. Note that dogs must be kept downstairs, off the furniture and never left alone in the cottage.

Do you accept cats or other pets?

Sorry, no cats or other pets.

Can I bring my bike?

Of course, but you can’t store it inside the cottage. We have lockable cycle storage, please let us know if you are bringing bikes so that we can reserve space for you.

What are you doing about Covid-19?

We adopted strict cleaning protocols and moved to a contactless arrival and departure system, which we continue to operate. We have also committed to Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol.

Can I book through Airbnb?

Yes, we are listed on Airbnb: Elan Cottage, Severn Cottage, Wye Cottage. You will have to pay Airbnb’s booking fees on top of the nightly rate. If you book direct on our website there are no booking fees.

Do I need coins for the meter?

No, because electricity and gas are included in our rates.

Are the cottages accessible?

Our cottages are converted farm buildings built on the side of a mountain; there are steep slopes and steps between car parking and the cottages. Shower room are on the ground floor, but bedrooms are on the first floor. You can find out more by reading our access statements.

Can I bring my caravan / camper van / trailer / horsebox?

Sorry, no. We have limited space for parking and restricted access to the car parking area.

Can I camp at Wye View?

Sorry, but our grounds slope steeply and we have no shared facilities, so we don’t offer camping pitches. There are some great alternatives for camping nearby.

Do you take cards?

Yes, we can accept debit and credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and Maestro. We do not accept charge cards.

Can I pay by bank transfer / BACS?

Yes, once we receive your booking request we will send you payment details: you can pay both the deposit and the balance by bank transfer. You are responsible for any overseas fees or currency conversion charges.

Can I pay by cheque?

Because of increased banking charges we no longer accept cheques.

Is it OK if we arrive in two cars?

Usually, but please check with us when booking. We have limited space for parking, and if we are fully booked we may not be able to accommodate another car.

How do I find Wye View?

Please take a look at our location page, it has all of the information you need to find us.

Do you have WiFi?

Yes, our cottages have broadband access using WiFi. Because of our rural location we have limited bandwidth, so you probably won’t be able to stream high definition video and upload speeds are restricted.

Do you have a DVD library?

No, we do not have a library of DVDs, Blu-Rays, videos or CDs.

Can children play in the garden?

Of course, but please supervise younger children in the grounds, because there are steep slopes and a stream.
